Coding is the new literacy! Children interact with computers and technology every day. Our Code for Kids classes are designed to tap into their natural creativity, imagination and interests while teaching them about creative computing and giving them the skills to design, plan and build their own interactive apps and media.
This is a set of three courses (Grade 1, Grade 2 & Grade 3) that span 4 weeks each with one and a half hour long classes. Using a provided laptop, children (8 - 14) will learn the knowledge, practices, and fundamental literacies that young people need to create the types of dynamic and interactive computational media that they enjoy in their daily lives.
Each week we introduce a new concept and teach new skills that support young people's development as computational thinkers.
A laptop and a design journal will be provided for each child.
4 week course costs €60.

Our classes are taught by Alan Joyce who has been developing software for nearly 20 years. Alan co-founded and ran the software development company Engine Solutions for 13 years and is passionate about software development and also coaches junior football.
